FAP Process
- Students make a fresh application for assistance every semester by registering on the FAP portal and submitting the filled-out application form along with supporting documents.
- Student applications are scrutinised and eligible students are shortlisted.
- Students meet the Interview Committee for an in-person interview.
- Fees of students, who are selected to receive financial aid, are transferred directly to IIT Bombay accounts.
- Beneficiaries donate back to the program once they have graduated.
FAP Eligibility Criteria
A potential beneficiary must meet the following criteria and be ready to share supporting documents:
- The annual family income must not exceed INR 7.5 lakhs for metro-based candidates and INR 7 lakhs for non-metro-based candidates.
- Candidate must maintain minimum CGPA/CPI of 6.00. This may be occasionally relaxed on a case-to-case basis.
- The candidate must have appeared for any IIT qualifying exam (JEE/GATE/UCEED/CEED/JAM).
